Why is my home button not working?

So I was trying to open my phone to replace my battery but when I opened up the phone the screws for the taptic engine were loose because some clown didn't screw them in when assembling the phone so it fell out n the cable snapped (https://imgurupload.org/files/IMG-202109...) .

So I then presses the screen back on to see what had broken ( I didn't know the function of the taptic engine) but I then got a message saying touch I'd can't be used and my home button didn't want to work.

Any ideas?

Options

The home button flex going from the screen to the logic board has become faulty. You will need to replace the screen to get your home button functioning again.
