Why does the click wheel stop working after opening iPod

I opened my iPod nano after my screen broke. I ordered a new lcd and replaced it. iPod turned on, connections connected properly however now the wheel will not allow any move on the listing or even allow to reset the iPod. Its almost as if the wheel was frozen. I'm not sure if I'm missing a step or did I damage somthing. My friend has the same thing with his iPod.

Any suggestions ?

Sorry to say the only thing to do is to reopen it up and go through the replacement instructions again and make sure you have the connector for the wheel on properly and not off center or reversed. Replacing the screen should not cause you any problems like this unless you damaged the wheel cable or plugged it in wrong. You did take care not to cause a static zap of the unit right?

If that doesn't clear it you may look at sending it into a iPod repair place after you get an estimate.

Good luck
