Machine won’t start cycle, and lid gets stuck locked.

I have a Maytag top load washer (model MWVB955FW0). Bought new in 2015 and has worked great until yesterday. Now it won’t start the wash cycle. I set it like I normally do and press start, the sensing light comes on, the lid locks and then nothing else happens. And if I try to pause the wash or turn it off, the lid doesn’t unlock and the lid lock light flashes.

I figured out if I unplug it for a minute and then plug it back in and wait a couple minutes, it eventually will unlock itself, which solved one problem. But I still can’t get it to run. All of the lights come on and I can set the load like I normally, but it just won’t actually do anything after the sensing and lid locked lights come on.

Water connections are fine, breaker and power supply are fine. It didn’t wobble when running previous loads a couple days ago. Problem just started yesterday.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi @cleverclover52 ,

Here’s the Techsheet W10828193 Revc(1) for the washer.

Try to run the diagnostics as described in the tech sheet (see p.2 Activating service diagnostic mode) and check if any error codes (see p.8-10) are displayed and what they mean.

Hopefully this is of some help.
