My lock fob has suddenly stopped working on my Ford Fiesta 2012 plate

My key fob has stopped working on my fiesta. I can use the key to manually lock and unlock the doors.
can’t change battery as it’s a sealed unit

Hi @joys2121 ,

Here’s a video that shows how to open your key fob to replace the battery.

The battery model used is a CR2032. It is a common battery available most everywhere e.g. supermarkets.

Note: Ensure that you insert the new battery the same way as the original. There is a +ve symbol marked on the battery so that you know which way it goes into the battery holder.

Thank you so much for your help changed battery easily with the help of you tube had to re program after changing the battery but google helped with that

Hi @joyspurrier, can you attach a photo of the key fob? (Click here for directions on how to add photos to your post.)

Even with the “sealed” devices you can usually get into them with a spudger (or a guitar pick, credit card, or flat head screwdriver). Once you’re in, you should be able to swap out the battery. This guide has a quick video example of using the key to open their fob.
