Permanent Sleep After Battery Replacement

Stumped on this one guys. So I successfully replaced the battery. Powers on, display comes on, charges etc. but only if the touchpad and keyboard stay disconnected. The moment I connect the cable going from the touchpad to the logic board the system goes to sleep. It's actually the 12” retina m3 core I believe? In any case I've looked everywhere I can think of to see if something was tripping one of the magnets for the sensor but nothing. To be honest I'm not even sure where the sleep/wake sensor is on this thing! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Answer this question I have this problem too

UPDATE: Replaced the trackpad and ribbon cable and still nothing. My next best guess would be a bad screen? It was brought in with a small chip out of the bottom left corner. The screen functions fine otherwise so highly doubt that could be it...

Is there nobody else who has encountered this?

Did you hold down the yellow button on the logic board before replacing the battery? I am currently dealing with a similar problem with my macbook
