I don’t think so as different batteries are used by the phones.
An LG G8 uses a BL-T41 battery
Capacity: 3400mAh
Voltage: 3.85V
Cell Technology: Lithium Polymer
Dimensions: 84.80 x 42.40 x 5.10mm
and an LG G8s uses a BL-T43 battery
Capacity: 3450mAh
Voltage: 3.85V
Cell Technology: Lithium Polymer
Dimensions: 74.10 x 65.90 x 4.00mm
As you can see, while the voltage is the same and the capacity is nearly the same, the dimensions are different. The BL-T41 is longer and thicker than the BL-T43 so it may not physically fit in the phone. Also looking at images of the batteries, the flex cable is also located in a different spot and its shape is also different, meaning it won’t plug in neatly or correctly
