Should LCD turn on when thats the only thing plugged in?

Hi,

Im pretty new to repairing iphones, fixed a few ipod touches so just have a quick question, ive taken the front assembly off my iphone, as im trying to work out if i need a new logic board or lcd, just wondering if the lcd would turn on if thats the only ribbon connected? as i thought it may be a quick way of testing it?

The iphone responds and you can see it in itunes, theres just no display!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Yes, the LCD will turn on if it is the only thing plugged in. I recommend replacing the LCD before you replace the logic board.

try holding home and power for 10 seconds until the apple appears and then release the buttons and allow to reboot. Sometimes that works..if it doesn't then replace LCD.
