Replacing 2019 LCD panel with and older 2017 LCD panel

I am wondering if it is possible to replace a 2019 27” lcd screen with an older 2017 model? will it work without any special configuring? Are all the connectors the same? I know there is a difference technically in the performance although very hard to tell by eye.

Options

They are the same mechanically, the Gamma and Brightness are different. If you don’t care about color or brightness it will work.

I replaced the 2019 iMac 27 lcd with one from a 2015, both 5k, and working fine excepting gamma and brightness not quite the same but fine for my purposes.
