Can you override caps lock (water damage) with an external keyboard

a few years ago i had water damage in my keyboard and replaced the keyboard. it worked fine up until the moment it didnt.

at the moment i have a couple more internal keyboards as replacements that i thought would fix the issue but it seems like the issue is really the motherboard.

//** QUESTION. is there a way, upon pluging an old keyboard or wireless that i can override this "fault connection” between the keyboard and the motherboard? a very old MAC keyboard? i've tried other old keyboards but the shift/caps keeps itself on

i've tried to unplug the internal keyboard from the motherboard and use just an external keyboard but everything stays the same. caps lock OR shift hold pressed is always ON…

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Sadly, I don’t see how.

Let’s think of it this way…

A kid is screaming in your ear having someone else screaming won’t quiet your kids screaming ;-{ Until you quiet down the kid you won’t hear the other person talking.

This then gets into what is stuck! Here it appears from your limited testing the issue is within the logic board which will require deeper diagnostics to figure out or just replace the logic board.

As you can’t over-ride a latched state (1) with a not (0)

nice analogy!

ok then.

was hoping to get a solution somehow, but i guess one cant convert water into wine… if only the spillage had been alcohol…

will try to think of something else and keep testing. if i find a solution will post it here
