Samsung NX3000 camera stuck during Firmware upgrade.

Was doing an upgrade from 1.02 to 1.11 on Samsung NX3000 camera. but the process stuck just under half way. Now it seems ‘bricked’ and will not operate. Any ideas?

Hi Joe,

Unfortunately due to the way firmware is written to electronics, if the process is stopped during the firmware update before completion then the device is ‘bricked’ as there is no firmware or a corrupted firmware on the device. Firmware updates overwrite the original firmware data during the update so stopping the update leaves you with an unusable firmware and therefore an unusable device. The best you can do is talk to Samsung support about this issue but there is unfortunately not much you can do yourself to fix the problem.

Thanks - I guessed that would be the answer. Kind of disappointing having only bought it in near new condition 2 days ago!

I had the same problem, exhausted all avenues with Samsung, the repairers they recommended didn't even repair their cameras here in Australia. after trying to find a solution Samsung advised me they don't supply support for their cameras !! Now isn't that great !!! Bloody useless company.
