iTunes does not recognize 3G iPhone

Updated to 5 and now iPhone shows up in the iTunes left column, but does not show up in "Summary Page" in order to add Apps, etc. Changed SIMS, rebooted a 100 times, nothing ! Any ideas ?

Thanks

Mike

You I have been screwing with this thing now for so long maybe it was an update to 4 that started all the problems.

Chosen Solution

i had some similar problems with different iphones - i fixed them by flashing in DFU Mode

the important part is the proper timing, you can use this youtube video for that: CLICK HERE

itunes should give you the message that it has detected an iphone in recovery mode

click restore and let itunes "reflash" the firmware

good luck

That's the problem....I can't do any of that, as it does not show up in iTunes in order for me to restore, etc !

connect it, turn it off and follow the steps shown in the video - the iphone will be recognized in DFU Mode!
