Hi,
Run the ThinkPad Setup program check if this resolves the problem.
Here’s how:
Turn on the computer. When the logo screen is displayed, press F1. The ThinkPad Setup program starts.
The settings will be corrected automatically. Then save the current settings by pressing F10.

Don’t know but perhaps you could check that the coin cell RTC (Real Time Clock) battery is OK. Its function is to maintain the BIOS settings when the laptop is off and I’ve come across other problems in other laptops, when this battery is low e.g. doesn’t start etc. due to corrupted BIOS settings.
Given that the laptop is a fairly new release it should be OK as these batteries usually last for about 5 years.
Here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to the bottom of p.75 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the coin cell battery.

Thanks for this update we bought 1800 from Lenovo which are still on a 3 year warranty. This is happening about 3 a day so far and my customer base could be any where in the Uk. Users don’t have access to the bios due to Security policy’s within my company as they use to teach. So students maybe in an exam or about to have an exam. The only fix we can do is recall the laptop and fix it or send another device out. Most of the time it seems when the ac power is plugged in most uses say it’ happens when the laptop is low of power and the crc 183 happens.

When on AC power the battery should either be charging or fully charged or did you mean that the AC was plugged in to a low battery laptop just before it was started.
Not trying to be smart but I assume that the laptop's BIOS is the latest version i.e. 1.13, even though it says "no fixes"?
Do you ever get the same one back later after having to reset it?
Really strange that only the one BIOS setting is being affected though.
Latest bios 1.36 as it’s gen 2 and the latest bios for gen1 is 1.17 bud? And yes I know it’s confusing why I am on a chat like this as it’s not making sense why it happens to my users. No logical reason. The common thing users are saying is the brand new laptop when it’s at low power and they plug the ac power in to charge the laptop. The Crc 183 error comes up. This disables the Tpm chip in security. Sometimes the security tab disappears. The only fix to get this back is to disable the battery and power up in ac. The security tab reappears. And they can’t fix it as the bios is locked down with admin password. I am IT bud. I logged this as a problem as we get about 3 a day which isn’t right on brand new stock. Hoping some one else has this issue and any good tips. We are limited to what we can support due to security policy’s but looking for ideas. It is with Lenovo as well.
sometimes the error comes back so we been swapping laptops after 3/4 times . In a class of 18 only one person maybe affected mind I had 2 from the same class yesterday with reoccurring errors . We think it’s related to the tpm chip or maybe the onboard battery getting low and not holding a charge . Unsure as these are pure guesses

You could create a Win 10 battery report to check the battery status. Compare the Design Capacity value versus the Full Charge capacity value. That should let you know if they're any good or not and at least may eliminate the battery as the potential problem if they're OK.

Why is this happening as we have this on multiple devices. We lock the BIOS down due to the company policy. Users can not clear this . I want to know why this is happening on random devices. It seems to be when the power gets low and then the tmp chip gets disabled and the users then can not log on. You have to clear this by going into the BIOS as an admin and enabling the tmp chip in the security tab settings. Any ideas would be great- this is on a Gen 2 E15 Think Pad.
