How to determine right connection side for display power connector?

when opening a late imac 2012 27” EMC 2546 there is a display data and power cable. while it’s quite easy to discern what way “up” the display LVDS cable should go, is there a trick to determine the correct orientation for the power cable for the display? (in case it gets flipped around) does any one know pinout for the power plug for the display? ( i believe it is Screen Panel LM270WQ1(SD)(F1))

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

if a cable requires a specific orientation it is keyed somehow so that it won’t go together any other way without significant force. AC Power cables have 2 or 3 pins. You can’t reverse a 3 pin cable. most 2 pin cables are reversible, but there are some with a key.

If it is a DC cable is will also have a key if necessary. No tricks involved, just don’t apply undue force.

this particular plug is your nondescript boxy kind that has no visible markings and seems equally eager to go in either way, so while the advice is good in general I don't think it work in this particular case :(

and since it's power I'm pretty sure plugging it in the wrong way will blow the screen so not keen on trying it via the "let's pug it in and see if it turn on" method
