Sony A99V - LCD suddenly very bright, unable to view: finder OK

Hi the LCD screen on my A99V suddenly became very bright to the extent that I can only see ghosts of items in the menu and no images on it. The finder appears to be OK and faithfully presenting images as shot. Can anyone help?
