Hi Huggs2,

Can you share more info about what's going on so we can try to point you in the right direction?

Hi Amber, my phone was working fine until I did my update on 14.4.1

The phone was slow and screen tap was sluggish, Plus my battery was only lasting half the normal time. My original battery was replaced by an Apple battery some months ago and worked fine since then. Also it was at 97% when I updated. I waited until 14.4.2 and that cured everything except the battery drain. Apple were not helpful so I used the phone on my phone charger or Mac and used my spare 6S when out and about.

That arrangement only lasted for 2 weeks when I noticed the battery drain was causing the battery to swell slightly and pushed the left side of the case to open. Not too long after that my Macs would not recognise the phone. I then noticed that it would still work on my external power supply. The phone worked fine for about a week then started recycling.

It initially would start loading after a time and work ok, but getting it to start took longer each time. Now it continuously recycles only. At some point update became unavailable (greyed out) so I decided to start over and do a DFU factory reset. All my stuff is backed up. With this the computer recognised the phone with an option only to restore. It downloaded the software and then said waiting for iPhone and timed out after 9 mins. with the "system extension Blocked"error above.

Regarding the battery I took the phone in for replacement and the problem was the same even without the battery connected using the external power.

Recycling as before. The tech said it was not a battery problem so I did not change it but he was not sure what the problem was.I really want to wipe the phone and start over.I love this iPhone 6s Plus for the big screen and the audio streaming i use it for. The audio streaming has the edge on my 6s.

Interesting problem (unfortunately.) I'm not sure what to do to fix the cycling issue. Hopefully someone else can give you more insight on that.

As for the swollen battery, for clarification, is it still in your phone? Using a device with a swollen battery is quite dangerous- it can be a serious fire hazard. If your battery is swollen, you shouldn't continue to charge or use the device. What to do with a swollen battery

I am assuming your phone will not fully boot anymore after the update?

It is most likely caused by some kind of dual monitoring or display extension app you previously downloaded. If you have your phone backed up, doing a restore will fix the problem. If you have not recently backed up your phone you could try using a program called “3uTools” it is a free program that can be installed on your PC it has an option to restore while retaining users data.
