Sudden beeping sound every 5 seconds but everything works fine

Hello everyone,

my iMac started beeping 2 days ago and I was reading that could be RAM problem but absolutely everything works fine! I am using a lot of memory for my Photoshop work and there is no problem with it. What could this be..? Please help, this sound makes me crazyyyy! Thank you

Did you run diagnostics? Restart your system press the D key to enter.

Yes I did but no problems were found and the beeping is still on. Thank you for answering...

Hey there,

It sounds like the beeping is occurring due to an issue with the RAM. Here are some troubleshooting steps to try:

1. Reset the SMC: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

2. If your device has 2 or more RAM chips installed, please try each installing RAM chip individually.

  • This will help you identify which RAM chip may potentially be an issue.

3. Clean the RAM slots with compressed air.

  • If, for whatever reason, there is dust and debris in the connectors, this will clean it out.
