Block Image

So I replace the battery with the ifixit kit following this guide.

The laptop starts and recognized the battery and worked without the power cord. A couples of days ago the laptop won't start on battery only connected with the USB power adapter and also now have a blinking screen and the spacebar and keys have some troubles

Also, the OS says battery services recommended

Answer this question I have this problem too

I fear your battery is bad.

I've updated the question with the coconut screenshot as suggested by @danj . I gonna reset NVRAM/PRAM and SMC

by

@hsabillon - I'm sorry to say your battery does look bad. It also looks like the charging logic is also damaged.

But before you get a new battery you'll need to get your systems charging logic fixed.

by

What are the odds that the replacement battery from iFixit also comes bad... @danj how can I fix the system charging logic?

by

@hsabillon - Looking bad is not the same as being bad when your charging logic is not working!

To get your system fixed will take some deeper skills and access to the parts. This is beyond most DIY folks.

@kmmeadows - For URL Links use square brackets [] and the bar | as an example

[ URL | Title ] or just post the URL with nothing to ID it or bracketed.

So for your first URL I would sent it up like this: Battery Calibration

Here's what the bare entry looks like: https://help.ifixit.com/article/265-batt...

the ++ entries prevent the URL to work properly

Those troubleshooting steps rarely resolve this problem.
