Home button touch ID swap temp to original

I know the MB and Home Button are married and that touch ID will NOT work if the home button is replaced. I misplaced my original HB so I got a new one. My question is: If I install the new one and later find my old one and put the original back in will the touch ID then work again? Or does swaping it, and then powering it on with a replacement then permanently disable that feature even if replaced back?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hey,

Replacing the old home button later on will just work fine until and unless you damage the button itself. Using a temporary replacement button would not hurt.

Cheers :D
