How do I fix the hinge?
My hinge is broken and I am having difficulties opening or closing it. Any idea I should open it myself?

Hi @kentkent ,
Here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop.
Go to p.71 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the LCD hinges so that they can be checked and replaced if necessary.
On p.91 Item #4 you will find the part numbers for the hinge. Search online using the part number only to get results for suppliers that suit you best.
If the hinges are OK and it is the lower hinge mounts that are broken you may have to replace the lower cover (p.87 Item #16 for your model).
If you find doing this yourself is too daunting, contact a reputable, professional laptop repair service and ask for a quote

Make sure you do the pair if you do decide to do it yourself.
If you change out or repair the broken one, I always find that one is then stronger than the other and that one breaks within a year or two anyway (generally they sell them in pairs anyway).
