Is there a way to upgrade the 64 model to 256 (or more)?
Wondering if anyone has figured out if a hardware upgrade is possible
Is this a good question?

It would require a hot air soldering station to remove the flash chip. The chip is then put in a reader and cloned to a new similar but larger flash chip. Some editing to the partition sizes before the new chip is installed back into the quest.
It could cause issues when going to storage levels above native options though. Updates might cause problems or Oculus/Facebook might detect the modification.

No, as the storage (I think) is a chip on the board (pictured) so it would be next to impossible to replace.

Not necessarily. It would require a hot air soldering station. It has been possible to upgrade the storage on an iphone. The chip is then put in a reader and cloned to a new similar but larger flash chip and then reinstalled. It could cause issues when going to storage levels above native options though.
You can just switch the board to one with with better specs

Unfortunately, the Oculus Quest 2 does not feature any user-upgradeable components.

I keep getting messages that I need to update my oculus quest 2, but when I check it tells me that there’s no updates available, then I get a message that something went wrong, try again later. I’m so ready to get rid of this thing 😡
