Touch ID Works but Home Button doesn’t

I have recently replaced the screen on my iPhone 8 and now the home button function isn’t working, however, it still reads my fingerprint. I then replaced the home button entirely, but still the problem occurs. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Answer this question I have this problem too

the first thing to do if you want to keep your touch ID functionality is to keep the original home button and not replace it. I found that most of the time the connecter to the main board is the problem as it does not fully click in place. is the problem still occurs then have a look at the taptic engine as that is the main component that makes the iPhone button seem like it is being clicked; if the vibration on the whole phone does not work then that is the component that needs replacing. ONCE AGIAN DO NOT REPLACE TYE ORIGINAL HOME BUTTON AS TOUCH id WILL NOT WORK AS EACH HOME BUTTON IS CRYPTOGRAPHICALLY LINKED TO EACH MOTHERBOARD.

hope this helps
