Phone has a black screen only

The phone still works. I was able to tell by hearing the sound whenever I charge it. I was also able to tell that the phone still works by calling it with another phone since the phone with the black screen was ringing. I was also able to tell that it was still working by feeling the vibrations whenever I enter a number on the lock screen (When it asks for the password of the phone). Another reason why it is still working is because the alarms are still going off. I was also still able to connect my bluetooth earphones to the phone. I already tried restarting my phone, but what I don’t get is that the boot up logo (The Samsung logo) shows on the screen. After the boot up screen, the screen remains black. Is there a fix to this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi,

I realize that you may not have a screen display but try the following to see if you do get a display and then if either resolves the problem:

i). Wipe the cache partition and check if that resolves the problem.

ii). Start the phone in safe mode and check if it works OK.

If it works OK in safe mode then a downloaded app is the cause of the problem. You will have to uninstall each downloaded app, one by one and test the phone in normal mode between each uninstall to see if it works OK. When it does then the last downloaded app that was uninstalled, was the culprit. A downloaded app is one that you downloaded and installed on the phone and was not pre-installed on the phone when you first got it.

Hello, I searched how wipe cache partition, and it said that I have to go to recovery mode. I tried searching for ways to go to recovery mode, and only saw one way. It was to hold both the power button and the volume down button for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds I switch the volume down with the volume up. I'm pretty sure this did not bring me to recovery mode since I could still connect my bluetooth earphones, and can still feel the vibrations when pressing a number on the lock screen. The other videos that helps me go to recovery mode needs a working screen. Is there another way to go to recovery mode?

@Twond

I linked how to do it in my answer. Click on the "blue lettering" Wipe the cache partition

It shows that you hold the Volume UP and the Power button (both together) to get into the recovery mode. Once in recovery you use the volume up and down to navigate through the menu and the power button to select

As I said i don't know if you will get a display but you can only try.

I also linked how to get into safe mode using the hardware keys

I'm not sure when the screen goes dark, so I tried holding the volume down and power button to restart. After a couple seconds I followed step 2 until the end. I Hold volume up and power button until the logo shows but still does not work. I tried turning my phone off by charging it and holding the volume down and power button. After that I tried turning it back on by holding volume up and power button but still does not work. There was one try though that I did that had a different reaction. I held the volume down and the power button for a couple seconds, then held the volume up and the power button not letting go after seeing the logo. Doing this gave a vibration, but returns to a black screen after that. Does the vibration mean that I made it to recovery mode?

@Twond

I don't think that you're in recovery mode as I've never come across the vibrate operating in that mode.

Does the boot up logo still show when starting the phone?

If so then the only thing that I can think of is that the firmware and the recovery firmware is corrupt or that there is a hardware problem.

You may have to resort to reflashing the phone using Odin and see if that works.

Be aware that you will lose all your personal data on the phone if you try this

I will just bring my phone to a repair shop. Thank you for your time

I took my A51 to Samsung service center and they replaced the Mother Board. it was still in warranty so they did not charge anything:) which is nice of them here in sweden.

They told me some IC needed repair but as they had Motherboard in excess so they replaced it with new one.
