The camera supports memory cards (SD card) up to 512GB (depending on sort of card) as shown in this list.

Go to p.3 in the user manual to see how to insert the card and how to format the card.

If you’re going to shoot movies with the camera then get a SD card Class 6 or higher. See image for location of class information on a SD card.
