Not sure what Replacement battery to buy

How do I go about finding out what replacement battery will work in my MacBook Pro. Not sure what year it is either.

Click the Apple logo in the top left and click “About this Mac”. You will find your exact model there. You can also look on the bottom of the device to find the model number.

@djbobe - If your system is still running go to the About This Mac from the Apple menu, what does it tell you your system is. If you can’t get to it look at the bottom cover for your systems S/N. Carefully enter it into here EveryMac - Lookup. Let us know what you find.
