Pushed in speaker grill, worth opening and replacing?

Hi all,

I have the iPhone XS MAX and while I was cleaning one of the left side speaker grills/vents I noticed that the mesh was pushed in quite a bit. I am wondering if it is worth me opening up the device and replacing the mesh? I have some experience opening up late model iPhones such as the 11. I would replace the waterproof adhesive around the screen but which would reduce the waterproofing more, opening up the device or leaving the speaker grill as is? Is the waterproofing damaged anyway?

any advice is appreciated

Many thanks

Hi Quinn:

Replacing the speaker mesh may help with the water resistance, but if you do not need the waterproofing then maybe not.

Happy Fixing!
