Just installed a new battery but still doesn't work.

Prior to repair, I noticed that the battery stayed at 23% charged no matter how long I kept it on the charger. It stayed like that for a few months until it just cut out. It seemed like the battery was the issue. I followed the battery installation instructions on this site and everything seemed to be done properly. However, when I tried to power it back up or plug in the power source, the charge light indicator did not appear and the computer won’t power on. Any other ideas of what it might be?

Did you try completely discharging the old batteries before attempting the repairs?

Does or did it work on just the charger with the battery removed? If it didn’t/doesn’t work with the charger alone the charger may be defective. Does the wall power outlet work?

Also are you sure you carefully reconnected everything correctly? I would suggest reviewing the battery replacement instructions:

You may have missed or misunderstood a crucial step. Especially recheck all connections. Are you sure you didn’t damage any of the ribbon cables?

We all make mistakes or overlook something from time to time. You must have done something incorrectly. Recheck the battery connector again (step 8), especially the metal guard, and the motherboard cable (steps 6 & 7) both ends. These pressure connectors can be tricky to reconnect - "minimal force" being the key words for all but make sure the connection is good. You could also try without re-assembling the case. If that works then it could be exerting pressure somewhere affecting one of the connections. Look for something like a wire or that tape on the bottom right of the right end of motherboard cable. And of course make sure some other connector has not come loose. Myself I use a magnifying glass and excellent lighting when checking a board.

I have the same issue with my laptop Asus UX330UA, the battery stayed at 53% and I decides to change it, but after having changed it, I had no charge light indicator and the computer didn’t power on.

It do not work with battery disconnected, it do not work with charger disconnected, I have 19V after the mosfet of the motherboard. I do not understand what is wrong, it does not work with the old battery too.

The exact same thing happened to me. Had a working laptop that wouldn't charge past 67%. Got the replacement from ifixit, replaced the battery, nothing would happen. The fan wouldn't even run.

Tried putting the old battery back in and still nothing. Tried with no battery at all, nothing.

If I plug in the AC adapter (with or without either battery) I get the orange charging light. If I hit the power button I get the white power light. However, no fan, black (off) screen.

I'm wondering if ifixit's battery supplier is giving out bad batteries since multiple people are having this same issue. Could be when it's connected, it fries the board.

Only other thing I can think of is damage to the ribbon cable (doubtful, as I removed it super carefully) or ESD damaging the motherboard.

Setting can get corrupted. Have you tried unplugging charger, disconnecting the battery and holding down the power button for 30 seconds?

I did try the procedure for doing a hard reset. Still doesn't want to work with either battery.
