Background and Identification
The device is an Asus Zenbook Ux330U. It is designed to compete with products such as the Apple Macbook Air, with a 12-hour battery life as one of its primary features. The device was originally released in March of 2017 and is still sold today. The market that the ZenBook is aimed at is the same as Apple’s MacBook Air; it is also aimed toward students, people looking for a reliable laptop around $700, and for users who are just looking for a device to browse the web. The UX330U was eventually outfitted with an eighth-generation Intel CPU, rather than the seventh-generation CPU found in older UX330U devices. Some components that routinely fail with the Zenbook are loose hinges (they’re fairly flimsy), and keyboard issues.
The device is a thin laptop (approximately 13 mm in depth) with a solid aluminum alloy casing. Its dimensions are 12.7 x 8.7 x 0.53 inch (WxDxH). There is an ASUS logo on the center of the top case of the laptop. The base cover of the laptop includes four rubber pads that help keep the laptop stable, as well as minimize scratching. The keyboard is also backlit on this device. The device has a selection of two colors: Rose gold or Quartz grey. This device has a USB 3.0 port and a micro HDMI port located on the right side of the bottom cover on the laptop. On the left side of the bottom cover, there is a headphone jack, reversible USB-C port, and an sd card slot. You will know if the device is a Zenbook UX330U by reading the model number on the bottom of the laptop. The model number is located on the base cover of the laptop, near the hinge. It is printed in small white letters next to the title model.
