Hi,

You cannot replace the CPU as it is hard mounted on the systemboard. The only way to replace it is to replace the systemboard.

The best that you can do to improve performance is to increase the ram up to 8GB which is the maximum supported by the laptop, if there isn’t this much installed already. You’ll need a 1 x 8GB DDR3L- PC3-12800 SODIMM module

Here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop.

Go to p.39 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove/ replace the ram.

On p.49 are the steps to remove the fan and heat sink assembly. You will find the CPU mounted on the board under the heat sink.

If it has never been done since new it may be worthwhile to refresh the thermal paste on the CPU as it must have dried out by now. There are videos on YouTube that show how to refresh the thermal paste on a CPU if you decide to do this. It will help to ensure that the CPU can run cooler as the heat will be transferred away more efficiently
