iPhone Xr without TrueTone and WITHOUT Not Genuine Display after reset

Hi there,

I got weird iPhone Xr - it does not have TrueTone option in Settings AND it does NOT have “Important Display Message”.

If it would be replaced - I would have that message OR - if replaced and TrueTone flashed with programmer - I would have TrueTone AND “Important Display Message”.

Any chance you know what is happening?

Additionally Auto Brightness works in my Xr - where in my other iPhone 11 where I flashed TrueTone data from original cracked display - TrueTone works - NO auto brightness - and “Important Display Message”.

Crazy :)

Thank You for helping me

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

it is possible they flased the serial number of the screen without the TrueTone data i have accidentally done this when i was rewriting the serial number from the old screen to the new screen as long as you have the old screen it should be easily fixable

That would be even more weird.

I got iPhone 11 - purchased LCD replacement - I managed to copy TrueTone with iCopy Plus but I got message 'not genuine Apple screen' - the reason it is weird to me :) because someone managed to copy screen serial number BUT no TrueTone?

i understand that i use a JCID V1S for screen replacements, you connect the phone before disassembly and you read and write everything to new screen. Then before reassembly you verfiy old screen then new screen to make sure TrueTone, Auto-Brightness, and the phone will not complain about non-oem parts

I got better question - so if serial number was copied to my NON-genuine screen - and I purchase new NON-OEM screen - I wonder it TrueTone will be restored because data has been copied :)

iin theory its supposed to it has worked for me so far with no issues TrueTone and Auto-Brightness work and not a single phone i have repaired has had the Not A Genuine Apple Part or IMPORTANT DISPLAY MESSAGE

by

also it depends on the manufacture of the replacement

The iPhone XR and XS don’t get a non genuine display message they simply just disabled True Tone.

The XR and XS do have the non genuine battery message though.

It wasn’t until the iPhone 11 that they introduced the non genuine display message.

Hope this helps
