is it well aligned with the turntable?
what if you had removed the turn table, do you see the synchronous motor turn?
if it does not turn, maybe consider making a call for tech advises or check with the sales representative, e.g. what is the operation behaviour.
else if there is indeed a fault, as you mentioned it is new, send it for repairs.
