Help diagnosing a motherboard with no short

I have a iphone 6 plus that was given to me the phone has no power no display. I connect it to the power supply at 4V and and it draws .98 Amps then shoots down to 0 and stays there, because its not holding alot of amps and shoots back to zero i assume its not a short. So if i diagnosed correctly and i am not looking for a short circuit what else am i looking for. I am just getting started with diagnosing motherboards so any advice helps.

You need to rule out faulty parts before going any further.

·         Battery.

·         Screen.

·         Dock connector.

If it is still acting the same and no prior repair attempts have been carried out I would remove the shields and inspect all components under a microscope if you cannot see any liquid damage and all components look alright you will need to get Tristar changed and try an update or restore as this is most likely a data communication problem.
