Thunderbolt port works for charging but not External display

Hi - hoping someone can help me

Both thunderbolt ports do not work for anything other than charging. No displays / or external drives etc.

I have had this checked at both a mac store and indie shop and both have said logic board full replacement ?

Anyone experience the same issue here and find a less costly solution?

Options

While replacing the logic board is one option, you might be able to find someone with the deeper skills who can repair your logic board!
