Which SSD enclosure for my MacBook Pro SSD drive should I use?

My Macbook Pro GPU died and apparently it’s not worth fixing. I want to retrieve my hard drive so I can use it as an external drive on my new Macbook Pro. I found one from OWC but it’s not available in my country. Any other options?

Thanks!

Diogo

Hi Diogo,

What country are you located in? Perhaps Amazon has them available, or any other electronics retailer.

Portugal. Is OWC the only option for SSD enclosures?

by

No. If you go on Amazon.es (they deliver to Portugal) and search for "Mac SSD Enclosures" you have a variety to choose from.

You can also check owcshop.eu. They are the OWC reseller shop for Europe.

They have a "where to buy" section that also gives you local retailers that might carry their products.

Thank you so much! I thought only OWC would read the data. Can you tell me if this is a valid option to a MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2015 SSD drive?

@diogocanelas - Sadly the Amazon write up is deceiving! This case is for a M.2 SSD not an Apple custom SSD which is very different physically.

You're right. There are a bunch of enclosures but I bet most of them won't fit. What are the specs that I should be looking for to know it's the right product?
