Cannot access diagnostic mode

My dryer is actually a Whirlpool but very similar to this model. The door lock is on but will not unlock either by using the 3 sec. button hold procedure of the machine or by unplugging the machine for up to 15 mins. We have removed the top and tried disconnecting and reconnecting some of the wires to the electronics board that see like they would control the door lock. Of course we cannot access the diagnostic mode because none of the buttons will work while the door is locked. Help!

On the door lock itself there is a manual tab to unlock the door. You can get to this tab by removing the top panel. Here is a video of it being done on a Whirlpool washer. Starts at 1:10.

I too have similar problem with my kenmore elite washer 11042822202. i can only get machine to work on delicate cycle and i cannot put in diagnostic mode. I tried spin/drain-no spin- prewash 4 times and unplugging wait 15 minutes and nothing. Please help
