Why does my TV keep turning on and off by itself?

Did you try removing the batteries from the remote (and any other remote in the room e.g. Firestick etc) to see if the TV stopped doing this, you didn’t say?

The buttons in the remote may not be operated but their contacts could have been crushed together perhaps by the weight of the dog.

If doing this stops the problem, use a digital camera and check if the signal LED at the end of the remote is always on or flashing (when the batteries are in of course).

Point the end of the remote that is normally pointed towards the TV at the lens of the camera (even a mobile phone camera will do) and view it is the LCD screen of the camera and check if you can see if the light is always on.

Try this with another remote and you will see the light turn on when a button is pushed and go out when they’re button is released.
