LG Front Load Washer OE Error (Not draining correctly)

I have done all of the recommended troubleshooting. Made sure the filter is clear. Checked for kinked hoses. And even replaced the water pump. It still gives the OE error at the end of the cycle and has water in the tub that will not drain. Sometimes if I let it sit for a bit and then try to run just the spin cycle it will work and drain out the rest or the water. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Hi @charmar ,

I realize that you said that you “Checked for kinked hoses”, but did you also check that there is no blockage in the drain hose when you replaced the drain pump?

Does the drain that the drain hose is connected to, allow the water to flow away quickly?

An OE error code indicates that all the water hasn’t drained in the required time allowed for this to happen.

Try running 5 consecutive tub clean cycles using washer cleaner tablets (or what is recommended in the link) and then check.

If still no good, here’s how to get into the test mode for the machine so that you can check if the drain pumps turns on (which you say it does), but more so to check if the water level frequency is OK

I have replaced the drain hose and am still having the same issue. I can get it to eventually finish the cycle but it gives me the OE error code every time I run a load.

Hi @charmar

Did you try testing the drain pump as I suggested above to see if it worked OK, (water level frequency within parameters), you didn't say?

by

I am assuming that it is not the stand pipe because I have even tried draining into a bucket and will still get the OE code. I changed the drain pump so I am assuming that is not the problem. I have run test mode and the water level seems fine.

@charmar

Can only think that it is either a problem with the water level pressure switch, part #A410- Cabinet and control parts diagram or the hose and air chamber attached to it but you'd think that this would then also affect the water level when it is filling. Does the problem occur regardless of the water level selected?

An OE code means not fully drained within 10 minutes so the amount of water in the tub must be monitored by something and this is the only sensor that does it for the water level. There are others that are used for rotation and spin speed control.

Worst case it is the control board.

We have the same issue. Replaced the door latch. Replaced the pump. Replaced the control board. Just will not drain. I can lower the drain hose and manually drain. That is the only way to get it to go through a cycle.
