That’s called stick shift, or stick drift
Try this :How to Fix PS4 Controller Analog Drift (R3 or L3 not working)
If that doesn’t fix it, you may need to replace the small analog component that registers the movement.

No my dog chewed on it and now half of the left joystick is gone and the L1 button is no longer in use
