Device Makes No Sound

Got the device about 2 Christmas’ ago. It will not make any noise, not even the starting up or shutting down booping noises, just a little static blip. The people at UE Boom were of no help. I have factory reset the device, confirmed that the program is up to date by plugging it into my computer, removed the device from my phone and reconnected. Nothing seems to get this thing to make noise again. Please help!

it turns on and connects to devices, pairs to my phone or computer, the device is recognized and they try and send music to it but no sound comes out, even if on the highest volume setting. the only noise it makes is a static blip, no other sound comes from the device. it is charged to 100% and still nothing has changed.

If your UE Boom 2 portable speaker has stopped producing any kind of sound, see the UE Boom 2 Is Not Producing Sound problem page for possible causes and solutions.

Could be a bad speaker or could be a bad amplifier IC and many parts in between. Not sure what you have checked. Use these guides UE Boom 2 to open it up. Then post plenty of good pictures with your QUESTION of the speaker the motherboard etc.

I'm not super tech inclined, will this be manageable for me? The most I have done is taken my laptop apart once to try and see if I could make a repair (which turned out I could not)

@Samantha Reid I think you'll be fine. Check the guides I've linked to and study thoise ahead of time. See if there is anything that concerns you from the beginning. Remember, we are all here to assist others with their repairs :-)

@oldturkey03 alright, took the speaker apart and added pictures of the mother board. on the close up picture there are some spots that look dirty, and a few other in the far out pictures but honestly I don't know what I am looking for.

@Samantha Reid looks like water damage. Let's see what we can find out.....

@oldturkey03 can it be fixed? or does it need to be replaced?
