Screen and backlight keyboard suddenly turns off of for few seconds

Good Evening guys, I have a Macbook Pro 2018 with touchbar. I have this weird issue whenever I closed an app or while doing something, the screen and backlight keyboard just turns off randomly for 1-2 seconds, then turns on again, it doesn’t seem like the flex cable is damaged, as it happens rarely whenever I’m working on something. The case is similar to when you close the laptop, it’s like the laptop is detecting a magnet. Any solution to this? Thank You!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

This sounds like one of the Hall sensors which detect the lid closing is firing off on its own!

Do you still have warranty coverage? Did you get AppleCare+ coverage? If you do/did I would get the system to Apple to let them replace the logic board.

If that’s not an option then you’ll need to find someone with the deeper skills to fix your logic board. Can you tell us where you live (country and nearest city) maybe we can aim you to someone who can help you.

The last option is bitting the bullet, just replacing your logic board which would be the very last thing I would do here.

Sadly no, my Apple care coverage just ran out… This issue only happens only once or twice in a month… Is the only problem lies in the logic board?

@Kevin - Without doing extensive testing I can't say for sure. But it's the most logical cause.

Thank you! I really appreciate it. It doesn't really bug me but I'm just hella curious hahaha
