Why won’t my iPhone 8 charge after water damage

I dropped my iphone 8 plus in the toilet saturday night (it is now monday night) and i picked up straight up after dropping it and rinsed it slightly in clean water and then continued to check if it was working fine after, which it was. Later that night when i was going to bed i plugged it in and noticed it would not charge unless i used a different charging cord to my normal one and placed it on an angle. The past two days i’ve avoided charging my phone during the day and only at night but it’s beginning to not charge whatsoever, what do i do?
