TV powers off after short period of use

I have a 60” Sharp TV that powers off after watching it for a little while (usually less than an hour).  If I turn it back on, it will stay on for 15 minutes or so and cut back off.  I can usually only keep it on for an hour if it has not been turned on for several days.  Is this a software or a hardware issue?
