Ambient light sensor not working

Hi there, I have an iPhone 8 Plus which I have replaced the screen on and I am having issues with the light sensor. I have replaced the original proximity as the original broke. The screen will light up and full brightness when using the original however when using the new one the brightness is at its lowest every time I pick the phone up/press the power button. I used a 3rd proximity which does the exact same as the 2nd. The phone is ios 14. Any ideas?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

hello there,

if replaced flex does’t work, it is means that is a Chines category C or D (I assume that the phone has no fault - which is also easy to check). If you have a magnifying glass or a second iPhone with new firmware (there is a magnifier program there) look at the sensor at the end of the tape. It is probably stuck with glue instead of soldered (if it is there at all). This is a common cheat (or oversight) of the Chinese people assembling the tape. Maybe a dishonest seller sold you a damaged tape - you can often buy cut or torn tapes with missing connectors etc on ebay.
