Try to position your laptop so that it has proper air circulation. If that does not make a difference, it might be time to disassemble your Vostro and to make sure that it is clean on the inside. There is a possibility that the air intake duct are clogged with dust and debris as well as you may have some fan issues. Disassemble it clean it, check the fan and make sure your heatsinks etc. are in good working order. you could also check on the thermal past on your CPU to make sure it is properly applied. The service manual is online on the dell site. Hope this gets you started in the right direction. Good Luck.

Since your laptop is facing heating problem & its because your cooling system including fan inst working properly. You need to check if your fan is running at adequate speed and also there aren't any dust particles stuck in head sink on either side of your laptop. All you need to do is just to use an air blower and clean the fins of your heat sinks to make the air flow properly. Good Luck
