Camera green and digitzer not working

hi,

I have received my iphone 3g back from my kids and when I turned on the camera it is a solid green color and after about 10 minutes the digitizer stops responding. It will work fine then it will start to slow down in the response and then stop working.

It appears to have been water damaged but everything works fine, all the external buttons. I have attempted to replace it with another digitizer but same thing happens, works fine then slowly stops responding. Could it be a bad logic board or something else?

what colour were the "dots" on your motherboard? they have a black circle and if not waterdamaged will have a white circle inside. they change to pink in response to liquid.(top left and bottom right on the metal shield) You can also check the underside of the dock pins for a strip that turns pink or the headphone jack.. Not all water damage changes the dots so if you found white residue on your connections or internal parts I'd be suspicious...

I took it apart and the dots are indeed red. Could have been from years ago from when I dropped it in water but it worked fine until a few months ago when I got it back from my son. I don't see any white residue on any of the connections but there could be some on the bottom of the logic board. I'll have to check that part.

Definitely corrosion. Check connector 1 and see if the solder there is bright silver or black. The camera connector the same. You can usually replace the camera and it'd be good, but if connector 1 has corrosion, you would need to touch those points up with an iron, or replace the connector.
