Replace BIOS Flashback button (ASUS)

On my ASUS Strix X570-F motherboard the BIOS flashback button is broken. I would like to avoid a repair via ASUS, because I expect that it could become more expensive. So I ordered such a button now and wanted to solder it in. But I don't get the solder liquid with my soldering iron. How can I unsolder the switch?

best regards

Make preheat, this board is very fat, with normal solder Iron will take hours till when is start melting. You can use hair dryer, preheat on 80°C id complete safe.

You need more heat -- bigger/hotter soldering iron.

Those components are soldered on with a “solder wave,” which runs very hot.

Good luck,

Russ

What size switch are you using for a replacement? (mm x mm)

Between 650-700 degrees Fahrenheit using flux paste should do the trick.
