Will the iPhone function properly?

I am replacing the rear glass of my iPhone 8. I noticed that the wireless charging coil was damaged when I removed the old glass. I have never even used the wireless charging feature and was wondering if I could simply delete the coil. That is to say unplug it and assemble the phone without it. Would any short or damage occur if I were to delete the coil? If so, I will have to buy a replacement coil. Let me know what you guys think.

Options

Yes you can unplug it and leave it disconnected. The phone will work as normal.

Quick question sorry for jumping on here and interrupting but can you use the iPhone 8 plus without the charging coil?
