interface port on iPod

My friend leaves his ipod classic plugged into his stereo in his truck at all times. It has been bumped a few times and the cable no longer makes a good connection all the time. Is there a way to reinforce the port on the logic port so it will not fail?

If the cable is loose at the bottom of the iPod, the dock connector, then there is really not a lot that you can do. The little spring pins may just have worn out. I would try a new cable and see if that makes better contact. The only way to fix the dock connector is by replacing the logic board. Not a terribly expensive or difficult undertaking.
