So I tried fixing my daughters broken screen and broke something else.

As I was removing the LCD display to disconnect the screen from the board I split the cable for the LCD. I have purchased a new cable but can’t workout how to connect it to the LCD. I’ve fixed a few phones with cracked screens. This was my first attempt at an iPad and I messed it up badly.

Please post a picture of this “split the cable of the LCD”. Did you tear the LCD cable?

Generally speaking, there is nothing to be repaired on an LCD. The cable is usually soldered to the rest of the circuitry and its very difficult to solder anything at all because of the proximity to the actual LCD.
