Hey everyone! My MacBook will not get past the grey apple screen. It will get to the screen and stay there for a bit then go black. I tried resetting the SRAM but no use. Be fore this happened I suffered some very hard scrambling of my screen...lots of static...

Hook up an external monitor (this is to test the Nvidia GPU on Apple warranty replacement). Insert your system installation disk and start up holding down the "C" key. If it starts, see if both monitors are doing the same thing. On the second screen on the system disk go to the pull down menu to Utilities > disk utility and see if you can repair the hard drive.

Thank you for the answer...I have no way to hook it up to an external source....
Tried to repair...cannot verify image...
that tells me nothing, I'm just a very good tech not clairvoyant. Please put forth some effort to help me help you.

In disc utility and am encountering "invalid node structure" when in repair disc mode...any help here?
