(Need Urgent Help) MacBook Pro 2018 display issue

Hi guys I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch with AppleCare+ which I had bought from the USA but I currently live in India.

Below is an image from google I found which has the EXCAT display issues I have with my Mac. But currently it’s not with me since I have send it to an authorised so called service Center.

So guys do you think this is a display issue because I have never ever dropped water or kept water near it at all. And the service Center tell me that the display will be replaced free of cost but due to some guildlines they can’t replace it because they found one of my liquid indicator red without any rust or corrosion.

I find it insane how is water damage even possible with my Mac when I have been personally using all this while without any issues and suddenly one day when watching YouTube it’s display started having these lines system wide even if I reboot also and these lines move and change depending on what I open or use or drag.

But anyway the service Center tells me that due to their some so called guidelines the only way I can fix it is by replacing some top lid (don’t recall the exact word said by them) they said I got to replace the Keyboard,TouchBar and Trackpad and then only they will replace my Display at free of cost and the cost of the replacement will be ₹35,000 or $480. While in the website any other damage should be $299

P.S : Due to the above paragraph apple community forums outright removed my post. LOL

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Some parts of India are quite humid! So what can happen is as the dew point drops condensation can form on the cooler metal parts of your computer!

Even still, if you have never had the system near water or had condensation collect on your system I find it odd your LSI tags turned.

I suspect you’re being snowed here! At this point get your system back and either wait until you get back to the states or find a way to get your system back so you can bring it to a real Apple Store to be serviced under AppleCare+

Don’t tell them you don’t trust them! Just say you don’t have the money to pay what they are asking.

Keep in mind India still does not have a real Apple Apple Store and there have been reports here of so called authorized service shops playing games!

Yes I do travel between two states with different climates from South India which is hot to war around 25 - 34 degrees and back to home to the hill stations of Sikkim which is from 15-23 degrees. I so worried right now since it’s a very expensive and I won’t be going back to the USA anytime soon and I had given it to the so called Apple Authorised Service Provider who I have had 1 good experience and all bad like before my iPhone 6s went dead and they replaced it completely, later when I water damaged my IPhone XS in the pool only the display was dead but they spoiled my blower volume button as it would not click anymore and also once they spoiled my brothers iPhone 7 and did not even assemble it back properly and made the phone useless.

I am really worried what to do since if they did the water damage on purpose how will other authorised service providers accept my device and do it free of cost even if I have apple care + when they have told me the liquid indicator has turned red. I have not seen it in person just over the phone I will check it once I get it back but i in a Dilemma that should I just pay the $480 or not

Funny thing is they found no rust or corrosion and I the LSI tag got tripped near the touchbar only

Jumping between hot and cooler spaces always makes things tough when you are in a very humid environment. I would recommend getting a hand full of these Humidity Card Basically you place it in your computer bag checking it before you travel to the cooler climate so you can climatize your system by placing it in a closed off plastic bag (sucking out the air) so you have the least amount moist air inside)

Do you have family or a friend in the states which you can get your system to? Hand carried on the plane or shipped?

I guess the other option is getting to a real Apple Store in Japan or Korea as examples which are better! I have no better answer for you.
